The Natural Ozempic

Today we're going to talk about a new riveting study about more evidence that artificial sweeteners pose heart risks. We're also going to talk about the natural Ozempic called berberine. Now, here's the thing, I don't want you buying supplements nilly willy. Now let's say you're trying to do this yourself. You're trying to figure when you hear one ad on tv, you heard one commercial on the radio, you read a blog, you saw things on social media, whatever it may be, and now you look at your supplements and you're not even sure which one is or is not helping you, it's time to test not guess to determine exactly what food, drinks, and supplements you should or should not be consuming.

Taking Supplements without Testing

Today we're going to talk about the natural Ozempic berberine, but first we're going to talk a little bit about taking supplements nilly willy. So you may feel that you have, you know, certain things, whether it be joint pain, GI issues, et cetera. And you know, the thing about testing is we can see in the testing what your labs are.

Maybe you're low in certain things like the short chain fatty acids like butyrate. Maybe you are actually too high in certain things. Did you know that if you're taking too much vitamin D or you're taking any of the fat-soluble vitamins randomly, and you're not really sure how much you're supposed to be taking or God forbid you're taking some form of drops it can actually be toxic. This is why it is so important to test, not guess. Schedule your call today so you can stop guessing.

So, we have to be careful. We must actually understand that the body is not a static machine. It's a biology, it's an analog and it adapts if you're consuming food that has limited availability of certain nutrients, it changes itself to increase absorption of those nutrients. So based on my experience and my journey, this information not only can you do it in a strategic way, finding this information for a functional nutritionist such as myself can upgrade your life, and in many cases, it can be life changing.

How Foods Affect Our Moods

Recently a study came out that says that transforming psoriasis or eczema care with probiotics and prebiotics is a new novel way of healing. treating the problem. So, we can use nutraceuticals, we can use prebiotics, we can use probiotics, postbiotics, psych biotics. There's probiotics that can affect our mood.

Now we know there's certain foods that can affect our mood and there's tons of research showing that the more junk that you consume, the more crap that you eat, the worse your anxiety will be. It can also cause depression. So, we know that we need to, we need to accept the fact that food and mood go together.

But this new study is showing that, and this again was out of MIT, and Mass General Hospital, And shows that certain bacteria can actually lower our cholesterol and our heart disease risk. We also know that 80 percent of our immune system is in the microbiome or the gut, and they're now calling the microbiome your second brain.

A Personalized Nutrition Plan

So we know that if we are looking at the microbiome to determine what is going on and whether or not you need to give your GI tract an oil change, keep this in mind. 80 percent of your immune system is in the microbiome. We know that there are certain pre and probiotics that can actually lower cholesterol.

Nothing's easy. There's no easy button in this world. And if you want to get to the root cause of the problem, sometimes using testing, not guessing is going to get you exactly where you need to be. Now, remember, we're not all the same. We're not all exactly alike. And personalized nutrition, if you haven't heard of it before, is based on the concept that one size does not fit all.

The study from Cleveland Clinic adds similar findings that they reported over a year ago. The study's lead author believes occasional bites of sugar sweetened foods might be healthier for the heart than food or drink sweetened with artificial sweeteners. I've been saying that for years. Now, you might ask yourself, why is the heaviest person in the room always ordering the diet soda?

Well, I hate to tell you, but it's not helping, it's hurting you. So, when we consume these artificial sweeteners that can be anywhere from 300 to 800 times sweeter than regular sugar, what that causes us to do is we're going to secrete a ton of insulin, and that's called hyperinsulinemia.  You also have to remember insulin's a hormone that causes weight gain.
