Natural Ways To Improve Your Metabolism

If you hit a brick wall with conventional medicine, today, we're going to talk about how to naturally influence your metabolism. The term metabolism is often associated with weight management and having a physical body. When people talk about a fast metabolism, they're often referring to individuals who seem to lose weight easily, while slow metabolism is usually mentioned when someone struggles to shed pounds. But weight loss resistance is a whole other ball game.

Battling Weight Loss Resistance

Weight loss resistance could stem from a variety of factors. It could be hormones or an imbalance in your microbiome—where certain beneficial bacteria might be low, and we need to boost their levels. We're all aware of the numerous gimmicky weight loss drugs on the market, and I always advise holding on to your wallets when faced with such options.

Avoid Weight Loss Fads

One particular type of drug, a GLP-1 agonist, binds to the GLP-1 receptor and has been getting a lot of attention lately. Initially developed by pharmaceutical companies to manage type 2 diabetes, these drugs have been touted as anti-obesity miracle drugs for weight loss. However, there's a high demand for these drugs, and they often lack insurance coverage, leading to nationwide shortages. Those who need them for their intended purpose—managing type 2 diabetes—sometimes struggle to get them.

Interestingly, GLP-1 agonists are also being explored for other health benefits, such as reducing cardiovascular risks, cancer risks, Alzheimer's, and even as a treatment for longevity. Novo Nordisk, for example, has approved a version of this drug called Wegovy for weight loss, which is even approved for obese teenagers. This development is quite concerning to me.

Even more staggering is the proposal to use these drugs on children as young as six years old. There are actual studies looking into this. The idea of using a lifelong drug with serious side effects on such young children, instead of addressing root causes like our toxic food system, is alarming. We must recognize that this is not some miracle weight loss drug. We need to be smarter and more discerning than what drug companies might assume.

If you are having digestive issues, suffering from eczema, or having symptoms like joint pain, fatigue, weight loss resistance, and more, I'm currently offering a free 45-minute call to talk about how testing can help. Schedule your free call today!
